ABOUT US:
Pawsitive Paws Academy uses positive, reward based training to help your dog choose appropriate behaviors. While many of the behaviors dogs exhibit are inappropriate to us, we must remember that they are natural behaviors to them. It is important to teach your dog when these particular behaviors are acceptable and when they are not.
PPA offers class instruction for both puppies and adult dogs to learn appropriate behaviors and manners, as well as to be successful around distractions, such as other people and other dogs.  While some of our other classes appear to be for fun, they are excellent ways to build confidence and teamwork as well.
The academy also has private instruction available for a variety of situations. If someone cannot attend the classes or may have a dog that cannot handle the class environment, private instruction may be for you.  Each dog is approached as an individual, and more often, they can be worked into the class environment with a little extra help.
The puppy and adult playgroups are going strong on Wednesday AND Friday nights, private instruction is available, and grooming is off to a squeaky clean start!   We have nail trims for $5, or basic grooms (bath/nails/ears) from $18-$28.
Our trainers have a variety of experiences.  Please scroll down to meet us!

You can reach us at 319-362-1991, or at pawsitivepawsaca@qwestoffice.net.  Our training facility is located at 137 30th St Dr SE, Cedar Rapids, IA; just off 1st Avenue, the 2nd gray building on the right with the red roof!

Our trainers have a wide variety of experiences between them and all are Pet CPR/First Aid Trained.
